New Patient Dental Appointments

Here’s what to expect at your first appointment:

What Will Happen

  • Dental Examination
We will examine your teeth, gums, and mouth to assess your dental health and identify any treatment needs.
  • X-rays
If needed, we may take X-rays to check areas that aren’t visible during the exam.
  • Prevention Advice
You’ll receive personalised advice on diet and oral hygiene to help maintain a healthy mouth.
  • Fluoride Varnish
Where appropriate, we’ll apply fluoride varnish to strengthen your teeth and help prevent decay.
  • Treatment Plan
We’ll discuss any recommended treatment and involve you in planning the next steps. This might mean being referred to other members of the dental team.

 Who You Might See

You may be seen by more than one member of the team, depending on your needs.

Appointment Duration

Please allow up to 30–45 minutes for your first appointment.

Please allow enough time for parking and travel to arrive on time for your appointment.
If you are more than 15 minutes late, we may not be able to see you and your appointment might need to be rebooked.

Before You Arrive

  • Bring any relevant medical information or a list of medications. Please ensure your medical history form is fully completed and up to date before your appointment.
If this is not completed, we may need to rearrange your appointment, which could lead to delays in your care.
  • Let us know if you have any specific support needs.
  • If using patient transport, please bring everything you may need for the day (e.g. medication, food, drink).

If you have any questions before your appointment, don’t hesitate to contact the clinic. We’re here to support you every step of the way.
